19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a former number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after March of that year.

Success also signifies he has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.

The player's counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first professional title, took control to create a decider.

Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
